We hired Chris for a corporate event and needless to say I was blown away. We have hired impersonators in the past, and Chris was by far the best show and the easiest to work with. Madonna is a character subject that has limitless possibilities. For over half of my life, I have held the unique occupation of portraying one of the most influential, glamorous, controversial and dynamic media stars of the twentyfirst century. Even after reaching American Icon status and inspiring millions world-wide, Madonna is still a morph in progress. Her intrigue continues to captivate, keeping my career as a Look-alike quite active, challenging and evolving right along with hers. I suppose this is what has held my interest in the work I do for so long.
In the midst of working as a Madonna look-alike, I've made an interesting discovery as I've followed her trends professionally over many years. Her life-long work is a social study of American Pop Culture and I've noticed that her presentation often emulates and embodies many historically successful entertainers and artists from this last century. When you look closely, you will find that She has borrowed some of the most recognized characteristics from many of them to include visual and artistic concepts from past decades. What fascinates me is at the same time, she has redefined these attributes into a style of which she can legitimately call her own. In that way, she too has impersonated others in her work. When reflecting on this, it shows me how we all influence one another and it all comes full circle.
To me, Madonna is without a doubt, the most famous impressionist in American Pop-History. She is mysterious and familiar all at once - Forever a phenomenon and a joy to celebrate for a tribute artist like myself.
